Australian Marriage
Celebrants Inc. (AMC)
was one of the first
celebrant associations
formed with the introduction
of Marriage Celebrants over
thirty years ago.
Over the
years the association has
undergone a number of name
changes as they restructured
to meet modern day needs of
marrying couples.
The AMC boast over four
hundred members and is one
of the largest in Australia.
All members are
professionally trained and
receive constant support
from the AMC. Members
receive a quarterly
Newsletter containing
valuable information and
updates to procedures as
they are released.
Additionally, they hold
meetings every quarter and
hold annual conferences.
At meetings and
conferences members undergo
their required five hours
per year of On-going
Professional Development (OPD),
a requirement under the
Marriage Act and
Regulations. This ensures
that Marriage Celebrants
maintain a high degree of
professionalism.
Marriage Celebrants are
obliged to adhere to a tight
Code of Practice as set down
by the Act. You can view the
Code of Practice on the
AMC website.
The AMC now
has 700 members.
